~350rwhp questions
hey guys whats up. im sitting here thinking about my goals for when i get my fox, and my power goal is at 350. for a car that can be reliably street driven what do yall recommend.
iv seen talk of bore to 306 and get a kit from summit to get a good starting point, or a clean slate on the block. and go from there..cam heads intake.
my plans are to get a spare block and just build it up and not touch the original motor, so ill have time. what should i do?
list part names and function(i know heaps of info about the 4.6 but the 5.0 is like a whole diff animal, pushrods in general are new to me)

Internals, Edelbrocks new Pro Port CNC 170 heads, custom cam, long tubes, RPM Air Gap(for carb, for EFI someone else could reccomend a good intake), all the bolt ons etc. Built well that could get you close to 350rwhp in a n/a 302 and still be drivable.
And before some of you pull the BS flag, which would seem perfectly reasonable, the Pro Port CNC heads are new from Edelbrock, and the 170cc port head outflows AFR 185s. That's why I say with those heads you could get close to 350rwhp in a drivable n/a 302.
Otherwise, you could build a 331 or a 347 stroker with those heads, or other good heads, and get 400+rwhp.

RE: ~350rwhp questions
im really looking to build the motor, as i want to learn about it, and help further my knowledge about motros and mechanics, if that makes any sense. i know i could use f/i but im looking more for n/a possibilities.

RE: ~350rwhp questions
Then good internals, plus heads/cam/intake and the supporting mods. Blowers are an easier way though. Make sure you have suspension, brakes and a drivetrain that can handle the power though.

can someone suggest some good internals and parts?
306 kit going back to what i said in my original post, i saw this kit and am curious about it. anyone have it? im not building a race car so they dont need to be able to rev to 6+.

At a boy!!! N/a is the way to go...then throw the boost to it!!!...anyway if you want 350 rwhp..it's possible but you'll need compression, decent heads..fairly good sized cam and a good tune with all supporting mods......it takes a lot more to reach 350 n/a than it would to supercharge it and reach 350....but anyway I had about 320 to 330 n/a on a 11 to 1 306 with .200 domw pistons and 58 cc afr heads... it ran good too!!

so are the limits on n/a about the same as a 2v 4.6? like around 320~ without some serious money? i just threw that 350 figure out there.
so lets just say i have full exhaust(lts, o/r mid/carback)
gt40 heads(seem to be cheap and popular)
cobra upper n lower
e303 cam
standard rai
pulleys
what does that net on a fox body?
and im gonna have a small shot of juice to make up for w/e i lack in the process of the build. proble a 75 shot. BTW what is the limit on power of these 5.0s? i know they have forged pistons(except the 93s correct)

RE: ~350rwhp questions
N/a you can push it past 320....just up compression ... to 14 to 1!!!! but then it's not streetable with pump gas.....but either way you look at it without NOS and supercharge/turbo..it'll take some spending to get there
