1989 with Salvage Title!!! AAAAAA!!!!!!
So there's a sweet looking 1989 Mustang 5.0 for sale on Ebay. Everything looks great until... Salvage Title? And the guy has no idea why there is a salvage title?! I'm thinking, wrecked, rebuilt, sold to unsuspecting mustang lover who's now trying to sell it to someone else.

What do you all think? Worth buying?

The guy could be lying or he might not know why. Some states will put salvage titles on cars that were stolen even if the damage was not enough to junk the car. You should run a carfax and see what comes up. That should show why.

My car is a salvage title. The only damage was in the front. All it needed was a new bumper, headlights, and a new inner fender apron. The core support and frame rails are straight as an arrow. I got it for $3800. It has ALOT of work done to it though. I priced out all of the parts that are on it and it came to almost $3500.

yeah 3500 for salvage + porno red interior is rediculous.
like stated carfax should show. but not always, and like stated california is one, if the car was a stolen recovery and simply had the column broken, it will now be salvage titled.
but you never know for sure unless they have pics, my '89 was stolen in cali, but still titled and plated from michigan. i got it back extremely chopped up. since it was mi title cali could do nothing, i sold it as a roller for a project and i can tell you i owuld never want to buy it back simply from how chopped up it was.

The interior turns me off more than the salvage title. Buying a car on Ebay turns me off too, unless you live around the block and can eyeball it.
Really, when you think about it, a minor front end collision would be enough to total a 5.0 these days. Bluebook on them isn't squat. If you want it, get it in the air and look it over good. I do that with anything I buy anyhow. Mine carfaxed clean, but I have reason to believe it was punched in the passenger door and fender (better paint and red showing through in the engine bay on the fender), but the rockers, floor, and strut towers are perfect, so, who cares?
Plus, the car is sitting on some money in rims, parts, paint. Weighing all that in, the price may not be that out of line. But that interior is whipped and hideous. $3k tops based on that alone.

Maybe he want't to be partirotic with the car? LOL.
I didn't pay attention to the interior when I first looked at it. If it had a different color interior I would go for it. But now that I saw that, TOO MUCH
