How much can I expect...
I really want to do a gt40 head/intake swap this summer and money is kind of an issue. What can i expect to pay to get this thing running? Assuming heads and intake cost me $80 from the junkyard and ill need a cam and gaskets plus all the little crap that really adds up.

yup agreed. gt40 heads are $300-$500 and you don't really just put them on box stock, you need to port a little ($150 min-$300 worth)
now i assume your talking "p" s since you said $80 but still....ain't gonna find it for that

My junkyard sells all heads for $26, intakes for $18. You pull everything yourself, thus the low price. What is the minimum that would need to be done to prep the heads? Im trying to keep this really cheap because if i don't, I know i will tell myself,"hey, why don't you spend a little more and get some afr heads?" I don't want to do this to myself. thanks for the responses.

Ok, lets forget about the cost for a minute. What is the minimum work I would need done on the heads? I hear porting but that doesn't seem necessary. Now if there's something about these heads that won't make them work on a stock block, that is what I will get done. I'm your typical broke college kid, cheap is good.
