Hey bigap15

The 274 cam sounds great im running hooker shorty's, bbk o/r x pipe and 50 series flowmasters all the way to the back. Its got a real nice lobe to it and drivability isn't an issue.Mine idles around 900 but yours may be a little different depending on your tune. I'm planning on getting a little video of the car on the dyno and idling as well once I get these issues worked out.

The springs iordered are from comp and the p/n is cca-986-16. They are dual springs good up to .575". The installed height of these springs is 1.750" whereas the ones on the patriots are 1.800" so I'm gonna have to shim them to get to the 1.800". The springs were $90 from Summit and the shim kit was another $25. I can't remember what length of pushrods are in it as the guy who assembled my engine measured and ordered them when he was putting it all together.

Do any of you guy's have pics of the heads new out of thebox? I saw pics on another site and the casting looked like junk. I'm just wondering if all of them do. To the guys that bought the patriot heads, no shame in buying an inferior product when you really dont know much about them. Remember that the mags are alway's biast in their articles. Not saying that they did not make that power, but they would not have written anything about thier first thoughts on heads before cleaning them up. I'm sure patriot gave them those heads and pay the mag good money for advertising.

I will be having my heads worked over a lil bit, then im going to get some flow numbers up, i dont think it will be too bad. My internet dont work at home or else i would get picks up of the patriot heads untouched. I know i could have got better heads, but everyone makes it seem like they aint going to make no power at all compared to afrs. Im hopeing to make at least 350rwhp with my combo, and i dont these heads with a little work will be too big of a restriction.
