Default intake spacer?

I was just wondering if you put a phenolic intake spacer of say 1" onto an intake manifold what would that do to the intake manifolds operating range? i know it will "cool" the upper intake down because its being seperated, but this also extends the runner length correct?, Say i went with the trick flow "R" series manifold and put an intake spacer on it, the normal operating rpm is something like 2500-7500 or so, would this lower or raise the rpm, or would it still be the same?

It'll raise the RPM range. I hope you have a cowl hood for it. I got a 1" spacer on my car for my GT40 Comp Cams polymer upper box intake and had to make a cowl hood out of my stock hood. It's nice to work at a body shop

It will lower the rpm range. Longer runner = more low end less top end.
This is why a Victor Jr. intake is much shorter than a Performer.

so without it the rpm would be 2500-7500 and with it it would be 2000-7000 or so

i didnt know that it would make that difference as i am gonna buy a 1" for my rpm 2 due to my throttle stuff is like almost on the v. cover plus also to remove , valve covers, get to injectors or whatever.

Yep, that's why the 5.0 Truck intake is so much larger than the car intakes, more low end torque.
