pretty rough decision to make.
I currently have a beat up 1990 LX notch 4cyl it has rust everwhere and is well... a POS. i have been doing the 351w swap into it and so far all i have is the 351w bolted down. nothing connected to the car but the motor mounts and the C4 tranny sitting on the mount.
Today acually i found a 1993 LX notch 4 cyl in PERFECT shape the exterior has no spot of rust or damage, the interior is a nice black which is perfect as well. all for $1,000.
Since i havent gotten that far on my current 4 banger to 351w swap should i start over with this nicer 4 banger? it would only take me a week tops to get to where i am now i would think.

start over with the cleaner car
and part out whats valuble on the rusty one... i.e, glass, lights, fenders, bumpers etc...
then scrap the rest...

If you found a notch in good shape and nice black interior for 1k you better jump on it. Black interior is worth that alone on ebay

I parted out a 88 4 banger, it was a rust bucket too with blue interior.....I ended up making out pretty well. I got over $700 in parts and scrapping it out. All I parted was easily removable parts.
Definitely start with a good base.....unless you want to work with crap and wish it was better...get the new car and part out the old one. PM me and I will try and go thru what I parted out and ebayed if you are interested.

If you have a good compresser buy a sandblaster from princess auto. They are on sale right now for $15 blast all the rust out, fix body work and sell it or use it. Spend $50, sell for a $1000
I would be up there with a truck and trailler if I had a truck... I'd give you $200 cash[8D] (you can keep the engine and transmission lol)
Good luck[8D]
