Hi Guys got my 1988 thursday sorry no pics I've been working but I will post them up, complety stock car Im the Second owner cars got 110,000 on it only thing that has been done is the converters have been taking off still got stock exhaust and the interior is perfect needs a little touch up paint though. But anyway what is the smog pump for? And are their any gains to taking it off? sorry for the long post thanks

a little but not much..just a parasitic drain gain = not much..probably won't even notice it..it is called the thermactor air system and what it does is inject air into the exhaust stream to heat up the cats quicker on cold start up to bring them online faster to reduce emissions as quick as possible

If it doesn't have cats, is the lower tube hooked to anything? If not is will blow out into the air and sound funky.
