I'm kinda new to the older models as i just fell in love with them recently. If it was me i would take the time and restore it back to original since your already building an engine for your other car.

Keep it original. Maybe lower it and out some rims on it....that would look bad ***.

Even if I semi restore it, it will have 82 GT nose and air dam, gotta have some rims on her too, was gonna go with weld prostars with drag radials

i would restore that dude back to stock , it has to be a rareity , nitrousd85 hasconvo pros on his and man they look sweet on a fox .82 t-top notch pretty rare i would go with restore it stock .
