What Will It Run - ET? 89 5.0
Alright guys, maybe trading for an '89 GT 5 "oh" 5 speed convertable. Just wondering what kind of times it might run, id expect at least high 13s with decent traction but im hoping for more like 13.5s but it may take more gear.
Edelbrock heads, ported and polished
GT40 intake from an explorer
Full length headers
Emissions crap gone
Full length headers, I beleive 1 5/8
Edelbrock cam - .498 lift, 220 @ .05, 110 lobe seperation
3.55s
CAI
24 lb injectors
Throttle body "ported" a little bit
No cats and flowmaster exhaust
What do you guys think? And how does the Explorer upper intake compare to the Cobra upper intake, are they the same or what and how much of an increase might I expect from the tubular GT40 upper? I think at this point the intake is a restriction but I dont know much about the GT40s. The throttle body has got to be more of a restriction though.

lol how do you port a throttle body?
n e who i think 280 is about right, as 86_GT stated. personally i would yank those gears tho.. 3.55 is a little high IMO 3.73 at the absolute rock bottom. im partial to 4+ myself

Dont know, dont want to know, didnt ask! I can only assume it works no better than stock and hope not much worse.
It will get a dose of gear, im into older cars so 4.10s is acceptable without overdrive, with that fifth gear its no sweat. Id consider going more but first gear might get nonexistent. I plan to change things around, im just trying to get a feel for what it might run when I get it home.

You guys are too kind. Stock Mustangs with bolt ons should be high 13's.
Edelbrock head and a cam? Throw a tire on it and expect nothing less than a low 13.
Either way. ET is mostly an indication of launch. You should be aiming for MPH. Accept nothing less than 105.
