supercharger preparation?
Hi everyone. I am new tomustang building. I have recently purchased an 89 gt mustang and the only thing it has done to it is BBK long tube headers and 40 series flow masters no cats. If someone could be kind enough to tell me what I need to do to the engine before I put a supercharger on it to make sure and not f*** anything up on the motor that would be AWESOME! This is the supercharger I would like to get http://www.vortechsupercharger.com/p...on.php?pvk=572. Any input or information is appreciatedif anyone has this supercharger on there car I would love to hear your opinion on what you think of it. Thank you and hope to get lots of replies!!!!

RE: supercharger preparation?
Hey man good choice on the s/c. I just put my paxton(vortech, same thing)on and its sweeeet. But yes if you have a bone stock car, it will bolt and you wont have any problems. The FMU is just a bandaid since you dont have bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator, bigger maf, tb and fuel pump. To get full capacity, eventually i would get a h/c/i, and you will be very happy. Also, keep all your stock routing of your pulleys, if you decide to delete your a/c or smog, you will have to buy the delete kit with the new pulleys, or you cant run your belt correclty. Good luck.

how much power would it make with stock heads?
ive been interested in doing this, becase at my elevation........you almost NEED it! haha.
i have more mod's then this guy, but stock heads.........
prob need a tune at least tosee your a/f ratio, and make sure your not going to mess anything up

RE: supercharger preparation?
i'm seriously considering a s/c. probably a vortech. i'm not as concerned about the intake, because the s/c will probably push all the air in the engine can use. but, a s/c specific cam would be on my list and maybe a set of heads with a good exhaust side. so that means aftermarket 'cause ford's exhaust isn't known for big #'s. also a good exhaust all the way from the heads to the tip.a s/c will get the air in, but it won't help get it out. bigger injectors will make more power. how big depends on how much power you want. call your s/c manufacturer. their tech people will have the answers. then tell us.
