GT Tail Light lense swap
What looks best, changing GT tail lightlenses to 93 Cobra's or LX's.I like the Cobras lenses.

Stick with the Cheesegraters! A GT with LX taillights are a dime a dozen. Cheesegraters are getting harder and harder to find and are worth more.

When I bought my GT a year ago it had LX taillights on it. I switched back to Cheesegraters. I know what you mean about the back, but I think it looks hot.

haha when you blurred out you licence plate it looks like a chevy bowtie i like the gt's the lx slooks like something off an old family car to me no flash,. im not familiar with the cobra are the just the lx |

IMO there are very few good looking gt's. I mean they look good from the side's and front but there is something about the tail lights like what is being discussed here but also i've never liked the rear bumper either. I know one guy who made his gt into an lx and another that is in the process of doing so. I mean no disrespect to the gt owners's but thought i wouldgive my opinion since the thread seems to be asking opinions. One of my buddy's has a gt. He has the stalker front, lx tail lights and saleen bumper cover and wing, it looks very nice.

GT or Cobra tail lights. LX's only look good on LX's IMO. the best rear look is

LOL, I was waiting for someone to notice that. That picture was taken the day I picked the car up from the body shop. At that time, the only thing interior wise in the car was the dash, driver seat, and driver seat belt. Everything else had been removed including the carpet so that if I came across any floor pan issues, they could be taken care of. Luckily, no rust. Not to mention I redid all the interior panels and put new carpet in, so everything was going to have to come out anyways.

I checked out "Almost Stock's" photos on this thread of lx, gt, cobra, lights. Those cobras look a little too "Old School for the GT, the LX's look more natural. I hate the fact that I would go away from a Full Stock exterior because of changing tail lights, but I remember seeing GT's back in the day and saying, "Those tail lights suck". IMO GT lights look better on Darker GT's than light ones like RED and WHITE. I have the 2 tone GT that is Dark Metallic Grey on top and Titanium Silver on bottom. Sometimes Ilook at them and think they look good.

I have the GT chessegraters in my now and are in great shape, but after looking "almost stock" with the cobra lights I really like that look. Does anyone know if they sell the Cobra's in the aftermarket, or is that something I am going to have to find at a swap meet.

I only lilke smoke stuff on a Black car....After looking a "Almost Stock's" photos of tail lights on this post. I think I would rather do the 86GT lights like yours...I don't like the pin strip lines that are on the Cobra lenses.

i hate thestock gt lights, go with lx or cobra lights they both look good IMO.

^^^What a difference!I want the 86GT lenses. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the Cobra lenses and the 86 GT lenses, besides there being pin strips on the cobras. I want to make sure that the colors are the same(the red, amber, white part)

i believe the only real difference is the pinstriping. i got the black pinstriping on mine, however the real cobra's had charcoal colored stripes. and the 86 gt lights have no stripes. someone correct me if im wrong.

Latemodel Restoration (50 resto) has both the cobra color lens, with charcol pin strips, and the black pin strips, I think I will be going with the black, to match the trim on my car.
