Default My Project!! UPDATE Pics #2 (Sonic BLEWWWW Paint)

Hey Guys,

Havn't been on here in a while figured I will post my progress as I have the next two months off work to build my car, among other things. Just bought a tonne of new parts, so this is the rundown.

Engine:

331 CHP Pro Streetfighter (main Girdle)
60cc Edelbrock Victor Jr Heads
Black Trick Flow Track Heat Intake
Ed Curtis Custom Cam
77mm Pro M Maf
36 # Injectors
70 mm T body
BBk Long Tubes
H Pipe
Borla XR-1 Muffs

Body:

Already repainted and cleaned engine bay (Pics coming tonight)
Cobra R Hood
Cobra R Chrome rimms
Full metal up repaint (post pics as I build it up)

All parts should be coming over the next week, so ****ing excited to get this thing back on the road. I will post up the pics as I build er up. Still undecided on a color anyone know or have good pics of a nice blue color?

Yeah will get some tonight I am redoing all the wiring right now, just cleaning, degreasing, retaping, and running all new tubing, cleaning all connectors. Will post pics once all the wiring is back on. As well as the engine bay before and after paint.

So this is what started the build, the oil pump shaft went, and boy did it go look at them twisties. Once you take the engine out ya figure i may as well stroke it, then once ya look at the bay ya thing well I better clean that up. Hey while I am at it I may as well just paint the damn car too.

I am not 100% happy with the color, it was way different on the can, however its a million times better than what it did look like, in the process of redoing wiring now. Not going to hide anything, I figure Ford put them in these places for a reason its been 20 years and there is no wiring problems on the car at all. Why fix it if its not broken.

All I did was get some paint stripper paint the engine bay hit it with a wire wheel, sprayed some self etching primer 2 coats, 2 coats high build, then 3 layers of engine bay paint.

Here is the body with all necessary panels taken off prior to the fire sanding, going to be sanding with 80 grit and a Dual Action sander. If doing this be sure you have a nice big air compressor. As well take EVERYTHING off.

Yes hatch is coming off as well, need someone to help me lift it. I was all alone tonight.

This stuff is that cats @SS.....Used to strip any paint on car, burns your skin pretty bad too!

My new sexy door handles, think we could get this style to catch on?

Will have a update again while sanding, try to go over how to sand a panel proper. Or relativly proper.....Ok well pics of me just winging it at least.

Yeah this one I am having some problems with, first time pearl spraying, that stuff knows when your scared of it thats for sure! Job turned out pretty nice, had some runs that you can BARELY see once sanded out, just a slight little wave, I have to redo a door and a the rear bumper do to some trash that was in the base I figured would cover....but never of course. Should be all back together within a few weeks I hope!
