around 150 give or take , depends if you are just building a nice cruiser or a street beast . the 3.73 shouldn't hurt mpg to bad . you will deffinately feel a difference in the change .

Yea, I believe I paid $400 for have mine installed but I bought everything (gears, installation kit, shims, girdle cover, gear oil, etc) It was only supposed to cost me $350 but they charged me $50 dollars for shims

RE: 3.73 gears vs 2.73
I got my Ford Racing 3:73s from the local classified ads, $100. Bought the install kit from summit and did the rearbrakes at the same time, why not. My good friend is a master mechanic and has a lift in his garage, I learned alot installing those with him. It's not your normal do-it-yourselfer. Like everyone says the difference from the stock gears was awesome (3:08s). It was the first mod I made on my 93GT.

You will pick up a couple of tenths at the track to say the least. They are worth it and I can't wait to get some in mine but I want to upgrade to an 8.8 first. I can pick up a 98 GT rear with 3.73 from the junk yard for $300. I just don't have the money to go get it. You think the rpm pick up is bad (not really) in a 5 speed or AOD try a C4 I only have 3 gears.

Have 3.73's and I love them, and like everyone else said gas is really the same, but I could tell a bit of a difference on the highway, but that all. I say do it, and can anyone tell me how much they paid for install, because I think i paid to much.

I've had 4 different gear sets, 2.73factory, 3.55 4.10 3.73,in that order and to me 3.73 is best for street with the 87 to 93 GT or LX with the 5.0 engine.MJR26 don't waste your money on installing 4.10's.I hated them as you will be looking for another gear. The 2005 up mustang needs 4.10 gears. For one thing the tires are like 3or 4 inches taller than the fox body style.I'm still using the factory size 15 in wheels .
