1996 Automatic drive shudder/vibration, what is it?
Hello, my father and I test drove a 1996 automatic GT with 22,000 grandma (seriously) miles on it.
There is an inconsistent vibration/shudder when you get into overdrive. This vibration isn't anything like out of balance tires or suspension, it goes in and out really quick, for a second or two each time.
My father and I are moderately knowledgeable about cars and are only idea is that it could be the torque converter. Only because we have a ford f-150 that shudders but a lot worse and we were told it was the torque converter.
What could this be? How much would it cost to fix?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
