Your not gonna feel a difference at all going from a 302 to a 306, but after 160k it would be stupid not to clean up the walls while it is apart. Many people misconcieve boring for a reason to gain power. Not true at all

Yes. Pretty much any aftermarket flattop piston will add around a full point of compression compared to the stock shortblock. This will give you a bigger gain than the 4ci.

Probably not. But look at reality. How long is it going to be before you can afford that blower? I wouldn't want to drive a year or two with an 8.5:1 motor N/A. With only 160k on your stock shortblock, if it isn't burning a quart of oil every 3k miles, I'dput a 150 shot on it and buy H/C/I as I could afford to. Then about the time you think you could have bought the blower, I'd put a stroker shortblock under the H/I and buy a new cam. The stroker shortblock and new cam will probably be cheaper than any blower worth having.

The car is burning quite a bit of oil even though it has only 160k on it but the car had a procharger on it before i bought it and went to the track quite often, so it has been run pretty hard. So i will probably take your advice and go with a 306 forged flat top this summer and hopefully next summer through a hci kit on there

i am runnin probe forged flattops on my stock rods.no problems with boost in the future as my motor will get within the year. with the pistons i got and twisted wedges 61 cc it puts me in the 9.3-9.5 range so still fine on the boost or nos

Is this your only ride? If so, I would stay away from nitrous use. It is a little to volatile for me.

Equal dish, to equal dish, the 306 will increase compression slightly.

I added BBK Longtubes over some smashed up shorty headers (same primary size), rebuilt the bottomend from a 302 to a 306, and ported my Performer intake, to match the AFR heads.

Gained 1.3 MPH with no other changes.

I would not expect much of a gain, if you keep compression roughly the same.
