Default 5 speed swap!!!

ok boys i figured out today that it was my torque converter thats ****ed up. so ive decided to go all out and put in the 5 gear. so heres what i got so far, t5 tranny that works great, centerforce stage2 clutch and pressure plate, flywheel, new clutch cable, bellhousing, and a shifter, crossmember.... i need pedal assembly, pilot bearing. the thing i need to know is the wire connection on the standard the same as the one on the auto matic? or do i need to splice in the other connector?
missing anything you think????

What do you have for a driveshaft. I love mustangs, but have never attempted a 5 spd swap. The last pickup I swapped wound up giving us all kinds of hell with a driveshaft we had to cut weld, and balance 3 different times. Shifter linkage as well, hydraulic clutch components, Trying to make it all jive under the hood. Personally if it was me, I would buy the torque converter and get a trans pack kit for the Auto if it's not already built or modded.

hmm not to sure about ur year..but with mine the hole was already drilled for the cable...because they come from the factory to either be auto/5spd..so on mine there was just a rubber plug that i pulled out n there ya go..no drilling required...urs might be different for different year.but i would think the concept would go for all years.

It's not a bad job over all, just got done with mine about 2 weeks ago. You already have the hole in the firewall for your clutch cable, your speed-o cable is in it right now if you have a AOD car. You have to move it over, you'll see. To me that was the hardest part, beside using the 36" ext to reach the top 2 bolts of the AOD bellhousing (you'll see). The pedal assy was not a cake walk, take the seat out and drop the column. Just take your time, I did mine in 2 parts, did the pedal assy drove it for a week and then did the trans. Also take all your parts and lay them out, everything and put it together in your head while looking at everything you have in front if you. No matter how much you plan, you'll find that you forgot something... Trust me!

I really don't know how long it took. I worked on my 30mins here 2hrs there, etc... It's very do-able in a weekend, I'm just slow and like to take my time. I'm more about the looks then rushing to get the job done...

Keep in mind I never done anything like this before, learning as I go. (plus it helps to have some help with the trans.) Thanks again to Matt...

I put a new rear main in and it's leaking like crazy so I get to pull it all back out again. It never ends.
