Current Pics of the 306
Well I got the push rods and roller rockers on last night along with powder coating the intake and valve covers. I am hoping to set it in the car a couple of weeks from now.....any other tricks I need to know heading into the end of this???

Yes,
install the headers and all accessories, before dropping it in.
Verify the oil pump driveshaft is on the oilpump.
Verify you put a dab of rtv on the lower intake manifold bolts in the 4 corners, they travel through water passages. The same goes for the timing cover bolts.
Now would be a great time for an aluminum flywheel to reduce rotating mass, you need a 50oz imbalance.
Stuff Rags in the lower intake manifold holes, never leave them open, also, its alot easier leaving the upper intake off before dropping the motor in.
The hardest part, is alignment of the motor to transmission and motor mounts, just go slow.
I now remove my own engine and transmissions, I do not use help anymore.

Thanks for all of the pointers!! I almost stripped the engine bay and filled holes and such, but I am not sure if this car is a keeper or not, so if it is, I guess that will be next winters project.

Stuff I have done so far:
bored .030 over 306
Sealed Pro pistons
Scat rods with floating pins
Gt40 heads-I gasket matched the exhaust ports and polished
Cobra 1.7 roller rockers
B303 cam
Cobra Intake
65mm throttle body
24 pound injectors (looking for a mass air meter to match)
Shortie headers 1 5/8
and I am sure more stuff to come
Also looking for a good radiator..
