Haven't finished working on mine yet. I've spent so much time and money in getting it working, I'm scared to drive it hard, fearing something else will break.
I know what you mean, man. I spent the first year that I owned my car dumping money into it constantly. I spent about $2500 in that first year...just on maintenance and repairs. It seemed like as soon as I got one thing fixed, two more things would go wrong with it. Ihoped that if I just kept my head under the hood, and my fingers in my wallet, I'd eventually have a trustworthy car. These days, when something does break, I just replace the part and move on...no vicious and maddening cycles of one thing breaking after another (knock on wood). With any twenty-year-old vehicle, your gonna wonder if you're in over your head every now and then. In my experience with old vehicles (mostlyold racebikes), it'soften better to keep fixing theone you have now, than to get into another one with unknown issues. I learned this the hard way.

mine is probably got the most miles out of anyone on here without a rebuild. i have only done the headgaskets and water pump and alt. i think i got it at 228k at 230 k all cylinders still had crosshatching when i did the head gaskets. it loves being romped on. it runs great and still smokes any stock sn95 my t5 is getting a lil beat but i find all my gears fine. i had a 4 banger with 300k on it they guy i sold it to has it up to 312 now, lol!! hondas dont usally even go that far!!

All of the ones I've had I've run fairly hard. One of them H/C/I plus 150 shot of nitrous and raced quite a bit and and it never broke anything. After the nitrous was removed I drove it hundreds of higway miles for work. The only thing it did in 1yr of driving like that was a loose rocker arm and a melted clutch cable.

The engine in the GT I have now has been rebuilt (no idea why) but I don't think they did a great job. It uses a little bit of oil and they used a machine shop that dosen't have that good of a reputation. The car has over 130K. I still beat on it as much as I can. If it blows up I have another in the basement to play with!
