Default does synthetic help when a car sits

I am buying a 94 5.0 GT with 82K. guy hasnt really used it for the past 7 years and put synthetic in it to maintain the motor. Kept it garaged and maintained in the meantime. Motor sounds great and ran strong when I went to go test drive it. Let me know what you think, thanks.

i think that yes synthetic lasts longer, but a car sitting is a car sitting, i would still drain all fluids, and use synthetic again, and drain the tranny oil and put in royal purple, i did that to my old 85 cause it sat for 2 years, so i would just change engine oil and possibly tranny if it feels rough...is it aod or stick? that is very low mileage for that year to id buy it for the low mileage...plue you know that for the past 7 years it wasnt beaten on....
