Fuel Gauge Not working, new sender installed
So my fuel sending unit started giving me trouble one day. I would fill the car to the top and the gauge will read a tad below 1/4 but when the tank gets empty it goes to E, just wont go above 1/4.
Naturally i go out and replace my tank, pickup and fuel sender. I needed the tank tank and pickup badly and i figure what good time to do it cause the sender is shot. Today i installed all these new parts, same issue. I added 12gallons of gas to the new tank and the guage is a hair under 1/4 again, will not go up?
Has anyone heard of a fuel gauge amplifier behind the cluster? Could this be my problem?
Thanks

RE: Fuel Gauge Not working, new sender installed
The car is a 94 GT. I dont know how the gauge could go bad all of a sudden. It worked great then one day it just stopped going all the way up. So if i ground the sending unit the guage will read full even if the anti slosh card in the back of the cluster is bad? What wire on the sender do i ground? How do you diagnose the antislosh card to see if its bad?
Thanks
