I like the Dart blocks cuz they'll take larger bores as well. Some of them will take .185" overbores and still have .250" wall thickness. They also offer iron blocks in the newer compressed graphite iron.
a buddy just went 4.125 on the boss block and it was .353 thick after the .125. Your not going to break either block, period.

The Boss is a nice block and it's relatively inexpensive in the aftermarker block area, but there are 2 things to think about:
1) Maximum recommended stroke is 3.400"
2) Main caps are ductile iron

The Dart blocks can accommodate larger stokes and have billet steel main caps, they are however more expensive. So it will come down to what your needs are.
I've seen the boss block stroked to 363 cid without a prob

Yes, I understand there have been some who have stroked over the 3.4". The 3.4" is FRPP recommendation because the cylinders are shorter. Noticably shorter even compare to a stock block. With strokes over 3.4" the bottom of the piston clears the cylinder more than one would want. The more the piston leaves the cylinder the more piston instability you will have (in theory).

When it is all said and done, it is a great block, at a great price, But I personally wouldn't stroke it more than 347.

I just ordered my new boss 302 block. 3.4" stroke, bored 4.125 = a 363. I'm throwing a blower on it next year. I expect 430hp at the crank naturally aspirated.

They haven't made a 352 since like what, 1963?

about there... wasn't that when they had their dizzys in the back of the engine?

*edit* sorry, my bad, I was thinking of the old school t-bird engines with it on the back, the FE's had fronts...
Yeah, you're thinking about the old Y block 272,292,312 engines
