The New Boss 302

RE: The New Boss 302
If I had the money I would consider buying one. It should be able to handle 1,000+hp without much difficulty. Cheaper than some of the other aftermarket blocks, but also not quite as high end. A good block for a high horsepower applications.

They haven't made a 352 since like what, 1963?

about there... wasn't that when they had their dizzys in the back of the engine?
*edit* sorry, my bad, I was thinking of the old school t-bird engines with it on the back, the FE's had fronts...

The Boss is a nice block and it's relatively inexpensive in the aftermarker block area, but there are 2 things to think about:
1) Maximum recommended stroke is 3.400"
2) Main caps are ductile iron
The Dart blocks can accommodate larger stokes and have billet steel main caps, they are however more expensive. So it will come down to what your needs are.

I like the Dart blocks cuz they'll take larger bores as well. Some of them will take .185" overbores and still have .250" wall thickness. They also offer iron blocks in the newer compressed graphite iron.
