Default will longtube headers change sound?

lets say two 89 mustangs have pretty much the same mods...intake, TB, cam ect...but one has longtube headers and another has shorty equal lengths will the headers change the way the exhaust sounds?

Yes, I worked w/ a guy that had put long tubes on his and it was way more quiet than it was w/ shorties.

Yup, at least at idle. The ones I have heard SCREAM a hell of a lot more at WOT.

most people I've talked to about headers and the countless number of vids I've watched on youtube I've realized longtubes have more hp gain while shorties provide a better bark out the back. You deicide squeeze that extra hp out or get a harder sound?
