well start with the basics and run a koeo/koer test and see if any codes show up

got KOEO codes
but couldnt run a KOER
wouldnt let me

well you'll have to find a way to run koer ....you've gotta eliminate all venues for possible probs...when you assume something is good or skip steps in the troubleshooting process....that's where you become lost....so I'd find someone with a decent scanner to run the test..... the Modis we have has always been able to run koer tests on all fords

something about a neutral drive switch is what wouldnt allow me to run it
