lol ya i did buy an explorer motor.. but thats gonna take a while to finish up. i still have yet to take it appart. then i gotta send it out to get machined then i gotta buy all the parts like the cam, valve train, pistons, etc. i wanna sell the explorer intake and buy a cobra one so i dont have to deal with all the bs.

but ya idk what to do. this kid i kno has a complete 302 out of an 89 w/ 117k on it. he was asking $400 but said i could have it for $300. my current engine has about 95k on it. but who knows what damage occured when the oil pressure dropped.

i called up a shop that only works on stangs. i had my gears done ther and my buddy got his tranny swapped there too. and he quoted me around $390 to replace the pump including all the parts.

the motor w/ 117k is soundin like the best idea ive come across then i could just sell mine for maybe like 300 sayin it needs a rebuild.

what do you guys think?

well i would like to it would prob save me like $250.. but i dont have a hoist and or time to really do it. seeing as i live on campus at my school and work all weekend.. and i dont really kno how to do it either..

Whats wrong with the explorer engine? Why not put that one in and build your stock engine?

um it has like 170k on it and i dont know much about it. and the fact that i want to port the gt40p heads and get them decked .003 and rebuild the rest. and the explorer motor will need a new cam and valve train. i might just have to suck it up and just have the oil pump replaced. i mean i just sold a bunch of stuff from my parts car so basically it would be free.. kinda...
