Default aluminum driveshaft

howmuch weightis the stock driveshaft of 88 mustang 5.0 foxbody auto trans, and how much weight is aluminum driveshaft?

I don't know weights but I was surprised at how light my stock one was, they really aren't that heavy.

reason i ask, i bought aluminum pulleys kit and when i pulled the stock one its almost as light as the aluminum lol so i'm reselling my aluminum pulleys..

pulleys are much, much smaller than a driveshaft for starters, so the weight difference will be less. Secondly were the pulleys u bought underdrive pulleys? If so they increase power not based on weight but because of their size.

If what your asking...is will it make a diff?? nothing noticable and it's mostly to reduce rotational mass and a little bit of weight savings....the aluminum driveshaft along with alum flywheel was one of tha last mods i DID ....so on the list of performance mods for bang for the buck.. I'd spend money elsewhere first

they reduce some vibrations and make the ride seem smother. my buddy just bought one for his 89 5.0 lx conv and it was much smother ride. performance wise there wont be much of a difference
