ORIGINAL: Hamutoff
There is a 186511 ALUMINUM SFI FLYWHEEL in 164 tooth but I cant seem to find the balance weight on it! On the Fidanza site, I see that its external but not if 50 or 28 ounce
ORIGINAL: mjr46
the fidanza aluminum flywheels come with the removable weight for either 28 oz applications or 50 oz sbf applications
Ahh - This, then makes much sense

I think those are just oem cast iron replacements. Just spend the cash and get the aluminum. The steel insert face is replaceable, so when you change cluches there's no need to pull the flywheel and have it machined.

ctgreddy, I just got my 164 tooth 28 inbalance flywheel, at first it seemed really heavy, I picked up its shiping box (JEGS.COM) and it ripped right out... but it weighs in at 26 lbs. OK for the price.

I was concerned about fitment, I didnt REALLY know if 164 would fit into my truck bellhousing they had 2 options, not the mustang 10.5" clutch I read that there were 11" and 10" clutches available around the years I am concerned with: 1984-1989? But it fit right into my hydraulic bellhousing:

Also, as I am swapping from auto to stick, I was worried about the bolts

so now it looks like my arp bolts fit fine, the thread extension for the small bolts on the flexplate matches the thread extension of the long bolts on the flywheel about .600"

oops, well I am taking my engine to Taylor Engine tomorrow... I am having them balance and assemble the short block so I wanted a chance to weigh that cast flywheel before I dropped it off, I used a medical triple beam scale thats here at work and it added up to 29 pounds after all [:@] well what do I expect after all its a truck flywheel, but its what I can afford at this time, Its not like its PERMANENT! I could swap it out later if I dont like it. I thought it was going to be close to stock 5.0 at 21 lbs but here it is at 8lbs more than that... At these #'s that a significent increase!
