Well you said the VIN matched for a Cobra so it should be one. The inital pics look like a Cobra too. The only thing I can think of based on what youand the tuner's page said is the chipmust bemessing something up. You should be around 220 hp stock on the dyno. A cold air intakeand some minor ignition work probablyisn't enough to warrant a tune and most of the off-the-shelf chips are garbage. I've also heard the stock coil is better than the MSD one, and I want to say something about the 6AL, but I don't want to go spouting off incorrect info.

Cobra's of that year were turds. Mine was nothing but problems, glad I moved to something else.
Your's was only a turd because you flushed the engine crankcase out with water (I have a good memory )

I have to head out for a while now, but I can probably run out to the garage and get some pics later this evening... is there any particular part of the car that you want to see pics of? Incidentally I did do checks against the VIN tag last summer to make sure it has a Cobra VIN. That much matched just right.

BTW, I was joking about the floor mats... any idiot could stick floor mats in a car and claim they were original. :P

just re-checked the VIN against this list and it's a 1994 Cobra VIN.

Also made sure the dash VIN plate matches the door sticker and, behold, it do.

since you pump whines, its mostly like on its way out, starving the engine
My stock pump was always pretty loud. My new Walbro is very very quiet.
my dad says his 86 pump didnt whine new, and over the years it got louder and louder till it gave up, my 86 whine alittle less and when I replaced it with a new walbro I thought I had wired it wrong since I couldnt hear it

Thanks golden_eye... so the next logical question is this:

If I pull the chip will the original ECM take control again with all the default tables?

This fuel system issue is starting to make sense, since I've had the comment that the exhaust smells lean. I'm starting to lean heavily toward a new fuel pump and pulling the Hypertech as my first two steps to solving this issue.

The first 11 characters are:

1FALP42D0RF...

So unless they were super-serious counterfeiters, it's definitely a genuine Cobra.
