I am looking at buying a fox body. I found a 1989 LX conv. The car is maroon in color with a white top and red interior. The car is clean as can be with no rust. It has never been in an accident.

It has the 5.0 with auto transmission and is right at 47,000 original miles.

I am looking at getting it for $5000. I was wondering if this is a good deal or if I should keep looking. I know what book is on the car but am wondering what fair market value is.

If it's in the shape yopu say it's in, it's worth the 5g's. But you can still try to beat him down a bit.

just make sure its really 47k and not 147k

Haha right. You'd never know my car has almost 160K on it instead of just 60K.

if it reallt only has 47xxx miles and not 147xxx miles then it is definateley worth it. i bet you could get him down to 4500 though! remember the foxes only have 5 digits on the odometer so after 99,999 it will go back to 0!

Thats stupid how american foxes dont have the extra digit. My Canadian fox says 189,000 KMS.

From what he tells me it only has 47,000. Is there anything I should look for to confirm the mileage. The car is very clean.

^^^^not bad as long as there are no leaks and it rns good and no wierd noises...it's worth 5500 to 6k maybe more = has low miles
