Default Exhaust Question

I just bought a 1991 5.0 Lx Mustang (5spd) and so far I have only put in a BBK CAI. Im thinking about the exhaust next. With a prettymuch stock engine, would BBK longtube headers and BBK o/r h pipe be good?? Also, for the headers, chrome or ceramic and why? Thanks for the responses.

The car already has flowmasters. So, long tubes would be good even with a stock engine?

some people say that your gonna loose down low torque with the lt's unless your making 300+ horse. ipersonally dont know i have shortys on mine (didnt want to replace a basically brand new xpipe)and have never tried lt's. ive seen both sides argued on here many times. theres a graph in asticky that shows that they did make more horse power but it didnt have numbers the torque. as for the ceramic definatly go ceramic, they disperce heat better and the chromeWILL go blue after a while.

I have 1 5/8" shortied on mine. No problems.
Old Nickel MAC headers that I I have had for about 12 yrs. I have never even had to replace the gaskets that came with them originally!!!

It seems like everyone says LTs are better but a lot of people also have to shortys and say they are just as good, so it's kind of hard to pick one. Im leaning more towards long tubes tho (ceramic) and a o/r h pipe. After the exhaust, what else would be a good upgrade? Im new to 5.0 so I dont know much. What gears to put on? Some say 3 55 or 373. Any input or advice is appreciated. Thanks

Well in my opinion, shortys have a little bit lower tone, but eitherway headers are going to sound great. you won't be unsatisfied.

As for gears.

4.10's for automatic's

3.73 for manual

Thats just my opinion though.
