Default 92 twin turbo not stay running.

my buddyhas a 92 twin turbo 5.0 it starts up and dies if i dont keep my foot on the gas. sometime if i give it too much gas it floods it out and dies. is this a fuel regulator problem or a vacuum leak, or what?

It could be many things like a vacuum leak, bad IAC, bad MAF, too little or too much fuel pressure, etc. Has the car been tuned on adyno?

no it has not. what does IAC stand for? i was going to first try to adjust his fuel regulator and see what happens. He said his MAF is calibrated to his 42lb injectors, but that doesnt mean its not bad, i know. as far as vacuum leaks he says he has none, but looking at the setup he has theres bound to be one. I heard of a air leak test... i think u hook it up where the spark plugs go, and the tool is connected to an air hose? There is a smell of rich fuel so my uneducated guess would be there is too much fuel? Yes?

Probably or a weak spark.

I would first pull the plugs to see what color they are. Probably black. If it is really too rich.
IAC is the Idle Air Control valve on the throttlebody.
See where the fuel pressure is as well.
The vacuum leak would be between where the intake meats the head and the engine side of the MAF. A vacuum leak at any spot between there would cause it to run erratically.

The leakdown test that you are thinking of is for checking a bad cylinder with low or no compression. Probably not the case here.
