Default Head Casting numbers

Where do i need to look to find the numbers that Identify what heads are on my car? I feel like an idiot for asking but havent found them. What are the GT head numbers and what are the GT-40 head numbers? so I know what Im lookin for...

You have to have the head upside down to see the casting numbers. GT-40 heads will have GT cast in them as well as GT-40P's will have GT40P cast in them.

so the numbers are unable to be seen unless the heads are completely off the motor... Guess that will be my next move..

the actual casting numbers are like lxman said on the bottom side of the head by the pushrod holes.

Default Head castings

I pulled my valve covers and the only number I could see was on a stamp with two small screws the numbers looked to be 9G25 there was also a capital T on the other end close to a ford logo any help is appreciated

You'll either see a "GT", "GTP", or a "T"
