If coolant bubbles out of the radiator when you rev the engine - you may have a bad head gasket. If the coolant was that nasty, there may be some bad cooling system issues.

You wont find oil in the coolant if the head gasket is bad, this engine doesn't have pressurized oil going through the cylinder heads.

Sounds like you could also have a flow issue... air bubble maybe... broken/sludgy pump....restriction in the radiator.....

Its not just a restriction in the heater core because that wouldn't cause the car to overheat. Just the heater to underheat. It's not a fan clutch issue either if the car will overheat on the highway.

The blocked overflow tank hose shouldn't cause it to leak much. The overflow tank should never necessarily need to be used unless there is an overheat.

Man this is the exact crap my car pulled.. I agree with 1990lxhatch. I got my 5.0 really hot on the highway. Didnt even see it comin.. Where does the water go if the head gasket is bad? out the exhaust? Im undergoing a rebuild cause I dropped cylinder due to the "lead foot"... [:@]But hey.. Maybe I will have my issues fixed since I gotta replace everything! and I am so gonna get my radiator flushed..
