Nice runs guys. What's the top end on your 347? I really want one now

Bernie your car looks so, well, Pro Looks like u mighta bogged a little that run...
AFR 185's and a comp cam xe 282 hr .565/.574 ...1.6 comp pro magnum roller rockers and an rpm air gap intake with a 650 double pumper carb 1 5/8 lt's......some say I should be using a single plane victor series....but got a special paint job and stock hood= no more clearance for the single plane unless I ditch the NOS plate....but I think it performed quite well considering it is the same build and all the same parts reused/transfered over from the 306, The results exceeded my expectations and if I wanted more I still have the 100 SHOT availible

Nice. That lil 347 makes good power, and it doesn't use a huge h/c/i setup to do it. What were your 60's?

I'm actually quite suprised at the power it makes as the afr heads are out of the box deals..now I did open up the spring pockets to accept larger springs ..but no extra port work or gasket matching and no huge intake either.....and not even a custom cam just a good ole OTS cam...make you wonder if I'd done all that if it'd of gonne even more...and there is still room for improvement as my 60 fts sucked...first run spun bad 1.96[:'(]and the second run I didn't launch as hard and let some more air out of the tires and pulled a 1.70 60 ft...better but still could improve

I'm a firm believer in not needing big parts to make big power, only the right parts. And AFR's seem to do really well right out of the box. That XE282 is the biggest HR cam they make for the street 302's isn't it? I wonder how the 347 would run with one of their newer XFI stroker cams designed for 347's. Or a nice custom solid roller from CI.
