To buy or not to buy?

To buy or not to buy?
I have the option of buying my uncles, 1990 V8 Mustang GT, for $500. So my question is it a good buy? Gas prices are high, i have gotten over the fact that it is going to be a gas hog. Here are some features... IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 6 YEARS! Front and rear plastic bumbers have chiped paint ( just a little body work) hood has two 2" rust circles, just on the body, has not eatin through it. 183,000 miles, AOD, AC is broken, ripped leather on the front seats, needs new tires, probally new brakes +brake lines. Overall the car ran good. Thats all i know on it so far. I live in PA, and its in another state, about 360miles away. another question, if i buy it, is it better to get it trailerd or drive it back, and hopefully it doesnt brake down on the way, lol.
I look to put serious time into this, Looks and performance.
-Thanks Guys

RE: To buy or not to buy?
Buy it. $500 is a good deal if it's in running order. How far is the drive back home? If you repair some neccessary things(tires, brakes, etc..) the car should make it with no problem. If you have a long way to go though don't push your luck until you've really taken a good look at everything that needs to be fixed. I'm one to drive back even if but I make sure everything is good for a long trip.

if you don't want it/ I'll buy it for 501 dollars!!!and tralier it back!!! don't attempt to drive a car that has been sitting so long without a compete look over and numerous test drives or else = recipe for disaster on the interstate
