Electric fan controller help!
I just bought a lincoln markVIII electric fan which is two speeds. I want to put an adjustable thermostat on it so the fan can run at 60% at 180 degrees and 100% if it gets over 200 degrees. does anyone have any personal experience with this fan that could recomend a good controller. I know jegs, summit ect carry them, i just want to know which one is the best and pain free in hooking up, thanks.

RE: Electric fan controller help!
Mark 8 fan only has one speed - High.
Low speed is controlled by computer in the Lincoln.
The 3 wires in the plug have nothing to do with high or low speed.
I have been using the Flex-A-Lite 33054 controller for a while now on mine.
Works like a charm, does what you want and has relay and temp sensor built in.
You will need a 200amp alternator that puts out 60-90apms at idle to keep up
with the Mrk 8 fan also. It draws INSANE amounts of amps. 100amps at start up and 40amps continuous

I have the same fan, i just got a toggle switch that is hot in the middle
and power on each end. I just the one end and hooked up the low
speed and the other end has the high speed. I ran it direct from the
battery with a 30 amp in line fuse. I have had no problems with this
setup i turn it on after it warms up and turn it off when i shut it down.
This might not be the right way to set this up but like i said its been
working fine for my setup. Just put AFR 165 heads on and no over heating at all. Aggie.
