My experience with FRPP gears is that the gears I got were finished differently & looked different than usual. Could not get a proper "pattern" across the gear faces. After assembly the gears whined like crazy. Upon removal & comparison to the old FRPP gears it was obvious that they were different, with different numbers etched onto the rear facing of the gears.Ford changed gear manufacturers & this was confirmed after calling FRPP. FRPP subcontracted the gears to Motive. Richmond gears looks like an alternative.

For my Mach1, I tossed the Motive gears & was able to use 3:73 Ford Ranger gears without whining. Still running quiet.

If the gears are whining they were installed wrong, get it back to them asap.
Two shops have quoted me 8-850.00 for gear install. I said thats alot and they said if you get in done cheap, the gears will whine.
..find a different shop!!!! for 850 beans you could have the whole rear rebuilt!!!

My 3.55's are a little noisy. Always have been. They guy that did mine worked at a Ford dealership as the drivetrain guy. He set mine @ .012 so that under hard acceleration, they would be in the sweet spot.
say whaaaaaaaaaaa???? spec is .008 to .012 and rule is set as close to .008 as you can cause as it wears in the spec will fall toward higher side..cause if you set at .012 when it's all said and done it'll end up around .015 or higher and that's excessive backlash and clunks will be evident expecially on an auto car and or noise prevalant.....sweet spot is .008 and when it wears in .010 to .011 are the sweet spots
