high school drag
me and a freind made a bet to so who could build the fastest car before the end of high school... im 3 years in and im in grade 11 and i have a 1990 mustang lx 5.0and next year i have 3 hours of autobody per day for a semester so i can paint my car, put new hood, rims, tires.. etc in/on it or i can continue with the performance path and hopfully smoke my freindon the last day of school... right now im next to stock with a k&n foot long intack but planswere to put a bbk ssi intake manifold with 70mm throttle body, fuel rails get new injectors hooker headers mass air sencer, 3.73 gears, cam heads...ect all i can do for grad how ever that would leave me with a stock sitting car on stock rims with the stock hood and stock paint oh and probable stock gauges... every thing that makes a car look good would be stock and frankly im not a big fan of stock.... should i piant it and go all out with body work or tune it and lose my one chance to get the car in the shop for a long time.... what do you guys think i should do????

RE: high school drag
i'd build it.
look at it from this point of view, you have a nice looking mustang that is stock... you might get dogged on alot LIKE ME
you have a mustang in reasonable shape, with completly built motor, you have one H*ll of a sleeper, and you can do the other stuff later.
And bragging rights on beating your bud..
just my .02

I've said it a million times and i'll say it one more time. Performance over looks. I'd rather have someone compliment my power than my looks. The performance upgrades would probably make you happier too, plus you get the learning experience. You'll have the rest of your life to make it look good. If your car looks good, you better have the performance to back it up. But to each is own, at least youll be in a mustang.

RE: high school drag
performance over looks hellz yeah.
but I dont know about the ssi intake, you can find a GT40 topend off of an explorer for prolly the cost of that intake... thats heads, intake etc... all you'd need is a good cam and valvetrain for it, oh and if you find gt40P heads, then different headers....
isit a manual or Auto? if auto, then 4:10s if manual 3:73s
and whats your buddy drivin?
