I say start out around 2500 or so and give it hell between the gears. You can allways adjust your launch RPM's to fit your needs. Put your tires on the car and practice on the street somewhere.

You will have to heat them in second gear...you might want to practice to brake stands before you get there....it is much harder when you have a lot of people watching you. I always go into the water box, spin them a little in first gear to get them wet, then roll out of the water, put it in second, rev it up to around 4 grand and dump the clutch and grab the brake and spin them till you see smoke, let off the brake and ease up on the gas (you will start to move) and go till the tires grab...then you are good to go. I was launching at 4000 rpms and it worked great...but I didn't dump the clutch, just let it out really fast. You will probably bog if you launch too low of rpms or let the cluch out too fast, so if you do, just raise your rmps on the next launch by 500 or so and go till you don't bog or spin.....I would start at 3000.
