or if i do go with the 9 inch wide rim what is the biggest tire i can put in the back. the tires suggusted is a 245/45/17 but i want something wide in the back is there anything else that'll fit.

so do you have 275s on the front and the back or the back. what i am tring to do is get more traction but i really dont understand exactly what the entire formula means example in 245/45/17 all i really know is that 17 is the diameter of the rim. after that i am lost.

i run 245s on the front. the 245 is the width of tire in mm and 45 is hight of tire in mm

RE: Rims and tires

ok cool so you can run a 275 no problem. so what would you recomend as a tire height 45 or 40

RE: Rims and tires

what size wheels do you have now? are you planning on keeping the wheels you have or buying new? i would say 275/40-17 on rear and 245/40-17 on front.

RE: Rims and tires

right now i got the stock 16 pony rims. there 255/55/16.i was planning on keeping the old rims for snow tires. so i just did the math and with a 40mm for the tire height my car will be 1.3 inchs lower in the back and 2.3 in the front. is that correct?

RE: Rims and tires

the rims will be 1 in taller but it might lower it a touch but not much
