What size in my Inch Rear Axle ?

I got a 95 mustang gt and was wonderng what size is my rear axle? Is it Ford 8.8 Inch Rear Axle , cuz i am planning on purchasing a 4.10 gear set? You think this ratio will be good for it just the begining and not in the long run? Thanks hope to hear from you guys soon.

If its a real GT and not a V6 conversion than yes 8.8. 4.10 gears are good, if its an auto I wouldn't go less.

Yes it is a v8 302 ho motor, you said if auto its good, i got a 5spd what would you prefer than 3.43

he meant that you shouldnt really run less than 4.10's in an auto.

I personally think 4.10's are too steep for a 5 speed if its a street car/daily driver.... too much shifting.

Thats why i run 3.73's
