I just ordered my 408 shortblock today. It is supposed to be here in about two weeks. Im sure its gonna feel like longer than that. This means im gonna have to get back on the project and get the engine bay painted. Its a 351w roller block, all forged rotating assembly, low compression JE pistons, and a main girdle. Now i have a lot more parts to order. And figure out what cam to get.

well i still have to buy all the swap parts. oil pan, pump, and pick up. distributor, timing chain, custom cam, intake, accessory brackets, I have to modify my supercharger bracket, ceramic long tube headers. I already have edelbrock heads but i guess ill need matching valve springs and such when i figure out what cam im gonna get. i ordered it from M&R engines in california. was gonna get it from fordstrokers.com but they are backed up quite a bit. they still helped me figure out a few things even though i didnt buy from them.

nice choice! how low of compression are you going with?

You should have held off and ordered it from woody. His customer service is second to none. He actually stayed on the phone with me while we did some trouble shooting on my motor!

hmmm so the 331 wasn't enough??? probably should of had a 347 to begin with

I ordered the 331 when i was living in california, and at that time they didnt make a smog legal 347.[:@]thats also the reason i had to choose a small custom cam. Im taking care of it now that im back in virginia and dont have to worry about that stuff. i wanted to order the motor from woody. I talked to him and he had an 8 week back log. He did help me out quite a bit though. told me a couple question to ask the other engine builder.Now thats customer service. when you help someone out and your not even gonna make any money off of it.
