trading my 93 5.0 thunderbird for a 93 5.0 fox body
my friends dad came over today to help me with diagnosing a starting problem on my car. its the fuel pump and we are going to replace it together on monday. i got to talking to him and foudn out that he has a red 93 5.0 fox body that he has to sell due to money problems. he was going to let his son have it for a first car but he says its too fast for him. after thinking for a bit, i asked if he wanted to trade for my thunderbird because its not near as fast and it would be a good first car. after some pondering, he said, "alright ill bring it over on monday and you can take it around and see how you like it."
i pretty much flipped out and was yet to know what mods he had done to it.
it has a fresh 5.0 with a GT-40 intake manifold, 70mm throttle body, BBK short ram, 24lb injectors, BBK shortie headers and a new exhaust (idk what brand yet), e303 cam, just rebuilt tranny with a diff gear ratio, new tires all the way around, and some other things that i left out. when he told me all of this stuff, my jaw dropped. im going to offer some cash on my end because my car is pretty much stock but in good condition. he said his has some stains on the headliner and some minor interior cosmetic things from a diff owner.
ill just hope for the best with this car and see how things go! im excited

check for rust.
strut towers, floors, lower firewall, torque boxes.
check for leaks.
rear main seal, timing chain cover, heater-core.
best way to test out a mustang is to drive it like you stole it.

yeah ill drive it like crazy for a little before i trade.. =]
on the stains, im not quite sure. its probably just something small because he keeps his stuff in great condition. im hoping to get a noticeable performance gain from the bird to the fox body. =D
