Default Dropping the rear end

Anyone have a how to or is anyone able to give a rundown of what dropping the rear end entails? I'm picking up a complete rear end with 4.10's today and would like to install it soon. I've googled but haven't found much.

quite simple to do.

raise vehicle into the air support the car with jack stands (not under the rear end, i use my subframe connectors as support points.)

unbolt drive shaft

unbolt break line from distribution block on rear end.

disconnect e-break cable from both sides(you'll have to remove your breaks in order to unhook the cable from the metal arm that endgages the rear breaks)

support rear end with a floor jack

unbolt shocks on both sides

lower the rear end down with jack and remove both springs

unbolt both bolts on lower control arm connect to the body

unbolt both bolts connecting upper control arms to the body

lower the rear end and your done. should only take an hour if your bolts done give you a hard time.

Just a rundown of how I did it (with your help and other internet articles).
1. Unbolt driveshaft (mark where the bolts were).
2. Undo the brake line (I unscrewed it from the mount under the car).
3. Undo the parking brakes (from the lever or from the brakes).
4. Unbolt shocks, both quad and rear.
5. Place a jack under one of the control arms and jack it up high. This will push the other side down and the spring can be removed easily. Repeat for the other side.
6. Remove sway bar.
7. Remove upper and lower control arms.
8. Slide it out.

With ours we put a motorcycle jack under it with a block of wood. Worked good.
