Default faded side mirrors

The black plastic housing to my side view mirrors on my 90 Foxbody are faded to a medium gray[sm=helpout.gif]. Is there anything available to bring back the color(black) or is paint the only option?

Scotchbrite pad, masking tape and some matte (or gloss, up to you) rattle can, 2 hours (taping + several LIGHT coats)and 4 beers. Done.

+1

only I used duplicolor trim paint...

it was in a green can at advance auto parts...

save up some newspapers...

if you get a lil overspray, it wiped off for me with a damp terry cloth and some pressure... but I had waxed the car the day before

I just took mine off along with the front window trim. I also paint all of my trim usually with duplicolor trim paint, comes out very well. No problems with it at all.

Ive used duplicolor engine enamel on all of my trim and it looks great. Best part is since it has ceramic in it I dont have to worry about it fading due to the sun. Stuff has been on there for almost 3 years and it still looks brand new.

+1. All the time that it takes to mask everything off you can take them off. And than you also have the freedom to paint at every angle, etc and not have to worry about laying on your back painting upwards to try and get the underside of the mirrors

They make a product called black again that works pretty good. If that don't work just paint them like everyone else said. I like SEM paint. Little more pricey but, worth it

SEM does make high quality paint but like posted above, they are more expensive. I painted my entire interior with SEM Landau black paint and it came out excellent. couldnt ask for anything more froma rattle can
