Default Cobra Dieing

Hopefully, I'm posting this in the correct forum. My wife has been having some problems with her 1995 Cobra. The problems havenever happened when I was around, though, so I can only pass along what she told me. At first she would occasionally have trouble starting the engine. It could happen in the morning at home, returning in the evening from visiting her parents, or in the afternoon leaving work. She would try to start it, and the starter would crank the engine over. But, it wouldn't start. After two or three attempts, the engine would start. Then she started noticing little hic-ups while driving down the road. We had a mechanic run a diagnostic on the car (Snap-on Tool not just a code scan) and he basically found nothing, except for a very short drop in the fuel pressure that he was not able to duplicate. He said that the fuel pump and fuel pump relay were common problems for this year Mustang and recommended replacing them. I had him replace the fuel pump figuring I would do the relay if the fuel pump didn't work. After replacing the fuel pump (and filter) the problem continued (I have not replaced the relay at this time). Next the mechanic tried hooking up a memory storage device to the ECU. My wife brought it back a week later and there was no data from the most recent starting problem. So, he took the car for a few days with the same result, no data recorded. Finally, the car died for a few seconds on my wife while turning a corner and then started back up on it's own while it was still moving. My wife also says that she can detect a slight odor of fuel while driving.

Any thoughts?

ECU? Bad connection/ground to ECU? Ignition switch?

Strictly stock. As far as I know that means the the FPR is not adjustable. The fuel pressure was good and steady during the diagnostic except for a very short hic-up of one or two seconds based on what the mechanic said.

drop the tank out again and give it a shake... almost sounds like a possibe baffle problem.

other than that... check the engine grounds, and battery cable leads

I had the same starting problem but a fuel pump fixed it, my fuel pressure would just drop straight off as soon as the engine was turned off.
