Default Good tires?

got my car back from its date at the alignment rackand found out from my mechanic that my tires are the better half of shot...(wear bars...)

I was going to get them before winter, but I will just bite the bullet and get them now.... better to be safe than sorry

so I have narrowed my search down to Kuhmo Ecsta ASX all season tires, still debating on going with stock 225s or going with the 245 size that my car rides on now...

they have a W speed rating and are 88 bucks each for the 225s or 94 bucks each for the 245s, considered to be a ultra high performace tire

or I have seen General Altimax Hp tires, considered a grand touring all season tire, speed rating of H in the 245s and they are 81 dollars each

all these prices are off of tirerack.com

what would be a better tire? I mean, both look good, look like they have a good treadwear rating and traction ratings....

who has had experience with them?

I am sorta leaning towards the kuhmos, but if the Generals are good I may get those. If I could afford the BFGs I would get them.... but you know how it goes

I have never heard of the generals but the kuhmos are usually good tires. I am a fan of falkens and BFG's but they can be costly lol. I need to get tires for mine too but I wanna upgrade to some ponies instead of buying new tires for my stock 14's

both are good budget tires

very "cheap" performance tires

your mustang should have nothing less than a V-rated tire on it

I gotcha. I have V rated tires on it right now, but the rear tires especially are down pretty good. thinking I may go with the khumos in the 225 size but I dunno... Ive gotta save up some money first... gonna have to do the rear tires one week then the fronts another, then get the alignment rechecked. they didnt do a full check since my tires were so bad, but the mechanic did tell me that the Toe was a little off, he just wants me to get new tires first. didnt charge me much just to check it either... real honest guy.

sorta wish I didnt sink that money on the uphoulstry, but whats done is done... I need the uphoulstry anyway

its only 6 bucks more per kumho in the 245 vs the 225... I have 245s all around right now... BFG Traction TAs in the front and BFG Comp TAs in the rear... prolly going to do it again if money allows... my budget is sorta tight, took me months to save up for my new exhaust and seats... betweencollege semester jobs dont pay for ****....

Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R. Not the longest lasting tire, but the best traction.
