re-building my gt-40s

Default re-building my gt-40s

well i whent to a well known machine shop called eddings machine shop inc ...they arecharging me $280 to rebuild them. includes cleaning and all that stuff 3 angle valve job pressure test and i dont remeber wat else the guy said....adder told me to get them milled to about a 63-64cc chamber he told me he would charge me $100 bucks to measure the chamber and mill it down to wat ever i want...wat do you guys about the prices ??does it sound about right..i also told him that i wanted to put some springs in there he said spring are about $100 thanx for your help guys

springs should be matched to the cam you have or will be installing

oh ok well i want a cam inthere but not yet can i just upgrade the spring and slap the heads on with my stock cam

Of course you can. But the Gt40s already have a 64cc chambers if I remember right. If you do get them milled be sure to check your pushrod length for proper valvetrain geometry
