with a stock 5.0 with the gt-40 heads and intake was 240 hp. add your boltons puts you around 260 hp add cam prolly 290 hp at the fly, a ls1 stock is 350-360hp. i have rarely seen a BONE stock ls1. even a lid can add 10-15 hp. there are also 10 hp worth of free mods, so with a lid and free mods he could have close to 385hp at the fly. its not looking good for you but i wont bench race and say anything. go race him and see where you stand you can always mod and rematch.

Just buy a good set of tires, and walk him out of the hole. If you 60ft him bad enough, it would take alot of horsepower for him to come around you. If you have to, get him to race you 1/8 mile instead.

I own both a 95 z28, and a 92 302 fox,you can get him if its 1/4 mile with some bolt ons and you know how to drive...if not, the z28 will pull past ya...It doesnt take that much to beat one if you know how to ripp gears, and have a decent setup...
also like i always say, its all driver half the time
ive seen Vipers run 14.5 et,s in the 1/4 ,cuz the fools didnt know how to drive em

the only experience i have with a ls1 vs fox bodies is my buddies ls1 was stock except minor bolt ons(lid,cutout) ran a 347 stroker fox with the victor heads intake cam, radials...etc and lost by 2 cars and he was slowly pulling away. not bad for a stockish ls1. and as with my ls1 and others around here they run better with more miles mine had over 100k when i got it and it ran like a raped ape(never took it to track) now with cam and radials runs mid 11's NA. only thing that will hurt him is if it is in need of a tune up.
