gm autos work pretty damn good, unlike a AOD
ORIGINAL: Projectquick

ORIGINAL: 93 LX FiveO

ORIGINAL: OnyxCobra

ORIGINAL: AdderMk2

ORIGINAL: 93 LX FiveO

numbers dont be mean anything if he cant drive

just race him.. and if you loose, so what.

old school
pushrods ftw
does anyone else see whats wrong with this comment???
The Camaro is auto and is also pushrod.
And what pushrod isn't old school? An LS1 is the same style engine as a 302. And OP you really don't have much of a chance unless your mods are at least what OnyxCobra suggests. Your set up is lucky to see 250 whp and the only thing going for you is that he is a vert, GM autos are a whole different animal then Ford slushboxes.

DudeIMO you shouldsmoke him if hesSTOCK and you put on those heads ,cam, and intake, and getter tuned. Now im not saying your gonna PULL HARD on him,but you "can" beat him.
I dont know about on "freeway"racing, but in the 1/4 you shouldbe good with your 373,s and mods. My stock z28 ran + - mid 13,s on a good cold day at sears point Cali .Thats good for stock ride but it isnt terriffic.....and its beatable.......

not a chance 350-375hp at the crank versus about 250 and 400lbs and a better all around power range means he will lose if bench racing. if you beat a ls1 then theres something wrong with it.

im almost positive if he had DR's and launched pretty high RPMS and got some good hook, im almost sure he'd take him or just barely lose. either way it'd be close

i've seen how those auto z28's launch
[launch] spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnn ...hook
[2nd] spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ...hook........................................... ....................
[3rd] chirp...hook...................................... .................................................. ....
(friend of mine drives like this)

no concept of letting the car hook up and trying to keep the tires from spinning. he gets horrid qaurter mile times, 14.2-14.6 and he's modified, ls6 intake ect ect.

If you can drive, that race shouldn't be a problem. Alot of people here don't give the GT40 setups credit they deserve. Once you get the heads, cam, and intake on get yourself a nice dyno tune and this race is yours. You should have a solid mid 12 second car with that setup. His camaro being stock auto/vert is probably a mid 13 second car.

Get some spray to be safe

thats what im doing, my friend has a 99 trans am, i dont even have my nitrous installed and hes already saying, "you need spray to beat my car"

its going to be close with the mods you have, but i think the ls1 will take you in the end.

its a close race,as the fox has a few more hp to make up to be equal to the chevy.

but like said again it all depends on if u can drive or him too.....?
